Our Story
DVC FIRPTA was created by the team at DVC Sales — the trusted name in Disney Vacation Club resales — to address a gap we kept seeing: international sellers of DVC timeshares were confused, overwhelmed, and often blindsided by U.S. tax withholding requirements under FIRPTA.
The Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act requires buyers to withhold 15% of the sale price whenever a non-U.S. resident sells U.S. real property, including DVC timeshare interests. For many sellers, this was the first they had heard of it — and the paperwork, IRS forms, and refund timelines were anything but straightforward.
